An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Throwback Friday, My Door’s Firmly Shut, by Ivor Steven
“The reblog link for my ‘Go Dog Go Cafe’ post didn’t work today, so here is a copy” Today I am presenting a poem from August 2017, just 2 months after I began blogging on WordPress ..
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Wonderful and so relatable, Ivor! We know the feelings your poem expresses!
Let that warm and peaceful light shine in…and then we let it shine out of us to others!
You are a bright, warm, comforting light…and so are your poems!
(((HUGS))) 🙂
PS…Always love Mr. Van Morrison’s voice and songs…”let your spirit and soul fly…” 🙂
I love the idea of a throwback, in that it invites us (and others) to go back to the start of a writing journey and see where the creativity began to spark. Whether it be in a lone ray of sunshine, as expressed in the clarity of your poem, or under the plum trees wondering if the bees will sting, words begin somewhere. 🙂
Still enjoyable four years later.

Sometimes, all we can do, is to try and keep that sunshine in our hearts…

Words are everything 😄📚🌏 from beginning to end …
Chromatic Pulse
words are emotions
the emotions of love and pain
words are eye-drops
the eye-drops of sunshine and rain
words are blood
the blood in oceans and drains
words are aromas
the aromas of flowers and grains
words are watered sand
the watered sand of trees and plains
words are dreams
the dreams in stars and heavenly gains
