G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Beautiful poem with a beautiful message, Ivor. I believe we can all choose peace and brotherhood if we embrace the concept. “Imagine” has always been one of my favorite songs. I enjoyed hearing it today. β€
I have taken a page out of your book and have begun listening to music while I blog. Sometimes I choose classical music. Today it was jazz. Tomorrow… π
Thank you for posting such a timely and meaningful poem, Ivor!
Oh Cheryl, thank you for your kind and thoughtful comments
.. and my poem is what I βimagineβ and βhopeβ for …
And yes John Lennonβs is my favβ too … an anthem for the world π .. and hereβs the βAnthemβ song for the world π by Leonard Cohen
Hi Rachael, lovely to here from you … I did do a few searches but you were off the grid … and think you, I am going reasonably ok .. Cheers πππ
I have been off the grid for a bit. Everything became a bit overwhelming/busy and I stopped writing and posting fora while. I’m planning on being back for as bit, so look forward to reading more of your posts. I’m pleased things are ‘reasonably’ ok for you, but I do wish there was no need to qualify ‘ok.’. Wishing you all the best.
Yes I’ve been busy, and my book was published in April/May, it has been a huge task for me, and I nearly exhausted myself … but I’ve coped reasonably well … Oh.. my book is called “Tullawalla” … haha … but temporarily unavailable on Barnes & Noble at the moment, and there is an eBook on Amazon π
Haha .. itβs published but not smooth sailing .. lots of problems at Barnes and Noble due to βCOVIDβ problems causing big delays and backlogs at their press shop .. and there was a couple of corrections that they over looked .. but like every thing at the moment, lots of patience is required πππ
I hope It will be Rachel .. I’ll keep you posted … Oh .. if you perchance see on the B & N site that “Tullawalla” is available … you’ll hear me roar from Australia … YEAH !!
Dear Ivor,
I can’t help but tear-up when I hear John Lennon sing this song. He was such a gentle man. Your words are touching and extremely meaningful in every line.
I loved this very much. Thank you for posting.

Yes Isadora I feel the same way .. when I in New York 2 years ago I had to visit John Lennonβs memorial βImagineβ plaque and I got emotional on the spot … he was such a presence in our youth ππΆπΉπΉπ€
