This a poem is from about this time last year(May). Today is only the second day of another enforced “Lockdown” , but I feel like I have been flattened by a slow moving Council steamroller … I cannot write a poem today, so this old piece will have to do !!
Weariness
I am not one, to feel depressed
This is more an aura, of been oppressed
Bones are aching
Muscles are throbbing
And I feel like I have run a marathon
But I have hardly ventured out into the fray
Here I am in isolation
Wondering about the sun’s X-rays
I am not one, to feel depressed
This is more an aura, of been oppressed
I have a thumping headache
My misty eyes are tired
And I feel like I have rewritten the Bible
But I have only been writing a poem a day
Here I am in isolation
Wondering about my future’s stairway
Ivor Steven (c) May 2020

A sad one. Go easy on yourself and don’t try to do it all. We know you’re here and have lots on your plate. Show up whenever you can )

If you were a woman, I’d say put on some music and take a bubble bath! Anyhow, just take some Ivor-time! Enjoy it!

Haha .. the music’s on, I’m afraid I don’t have a bath… I’ll have extra long hot shower instead… 😀

I love your poem and I enjoyed the unusual version of the song.
I’m a little like you at the moment, I’m relying on re-blogs.
By not doing anything of interest right now means I’m running out of ideas. 🙂

There are time we need a recharge, and my old battery is definitely on low, so it’s time for some R & R…. but I’ve another Anthology to promote, starting tomorrow…😀😎

My project this week is to clear old images from iCloud, I’m running out of storage despite my allowance of 50 gigabytes, but it’s a a boring tedious task.

You have been doing A LOT, Ivor! So it’s okay to slow down and take some R&R time and do just what you want, or nothing at all. 🙂 Listening to music, talking to your plants, eating some cake, a leisurely walk in the sun, etc… 😉
Your re-posts are wonderful…so many of your poems are deserving of many reads!!! 🙂

PS…I am SO enjoying reading your poems!!! 🙂

Sorry to hear about your lock down. I am sure that would be depressing. A great poem of sad weariness. “Some days are diamonds and some days are stones…” Your diamond days will be back. Were you able to get your covid shots?

I can relate to being so tired and zapped off energy in my body and being, without actually stepping out or exerting physically in any way. Just living at times takes up so much energy. Beautifully expressed in a poem as always.

We have been under a lockdown for the past month. It can get oppressive. Staring at the four walls of your house can feel tiresome.. That’s when I rely on the blogosphere to rescue me.
