White Dawn

frozen

the world is becalmed

zero

the last autumn day

time

a ghostly sundial shadow

frost

blankets the ground

icicles

hinge on the trees

birds

silently catch their breath

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I am sure we all do from time to time 😊 but even to have zero degrees there, I wouldn’t have expected… I really knew so little about the world before I discovered this community!

      2. Yes … Australia is a very vast wondrous place

Australia, is a country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania, and numerous smaller islands. It is the largest country in Oceania and the world’s sixth-largest country

  1. ‘Tis a beautiful photo and poem, Ivor!
I like the cold of autumn and winter…the crispness, the frost, the snow, the winter skies, etc. 🙂
‘Tis a wonderful contrast to the hot hot hot of summer. I know not everyone agrees with me. Oh well-za! ‘Tis okay! HA! 😀
    (((HUGS))) 🙂
