I Dreamily Resume


Today I am re-mingling with the herd

Quietly hovering, almost free as a bird

Restricted by my feathery mask

And trying to be chirpy is a pesky task


I have re-discovered my way again

Despite the afternoon’s gloomy rain

Rejoining a happy crew at the Box Office Cafe

Enjoying a piece of cheesecake and my coffee

And my headphones resonate a tuneful matinee

Comfy without a veil, while writing at my table

I dreamily resume rewriting last month’s fable

  2. love your song choice Ivor, one of my fave bands ever. I was toe tapping as I read your wonderful poem for today, living in the moment and enjoying every bit of it is classic Ivor and that is absolutely inspirational to me. your feathery mask sounds like a little masquerade party starting in Box Office cafe, hope the cake was delish as always. cheesecake…yum! This is my fave Ivor style poems, a little bit of life, a little bit of adventure, all wrapped up in warm poetic lines. happy weekend!

    1. Cheesecake is certainly a sensational way to kickstart the day. .. but from what I can remember … it’s not quite as good as ‘sex’ 😊🌏
