G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. it may allow equality for that moment but I still found the oggiling unnerving, so maybe it’s not really equal … mind you I’ve become quite invisible with the aging process 🙂 the dance of extremes …

      1. Yes indeed Mich .. the poet/plumber from little old Geelong is writing for a big magazine in America .. and for this 70 year-old … the whole situation has been amazingly surreal 😊🌏😀🤔

  2. Congrats, Ivor!
And what a beautiful poem! An apt and wonderful metaphor!
I visited the link but it wouldn’t let me leave a comment. 😦 But, I’ll try again.
Make it a beach-y day…even if just in your memory! 😀

  3. I love your metaphor of disappointments being like hidden ocean reefs – it makes them seem beautiful and manageable, something to be discovered and wondered and not something to be feared and hidden. Glad you’re lovely words are being shared with more people on these different platforms!
