G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

I think we are sometimes conditioned to live like robots. At work, we are even referred to as ‘human resources.’ The idea of humans as natural, spiritual beings is often mocked by those who think they know better…and yet look what they are doing to our world! As you can see, your poem hit a nerve…
Yes, Ivor! This is so important, powerful, and timely! Your words (backed up by Mr. Cohen’s song) resonated from my head to my heart! I got a bit teary-eyed.
We must always remember to treat each other, and ourselves, with compassion and love! 🙂

Thank you Carolyn .. an interesting piece that I wrote yesterday at Coffee House Writers Sprint session .. where we get 20mins to write something .. of course I polished it up a bit and added my pic’ and music/video later

We had a warm one here Ivor managed to get out for a lovely walk and rested by the canal so that was a highlight. I think that rain is on the way here for the weekend…does Frankie have a raincoat?
Thank you Cheryl… and yes under our present circumstances, and in difficult times, sometimes the governments think we can switch off and on at the drops of their hats,… but it’s not always that easy, everyone has different lives to live …. we don’t all fit into the one shoe box … Yep .. we are not Robots …
