An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Floating on the Moon
Hello readers and followers, today I am continuing with my theme of “Moom” poems, and if need to have a chat with me, “I am up here floating on the moon”
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Ivor, a beautiful expression of life’s ups and downs! ! β€ Your poems so often leave your readers "floating on the moon." π Have a beautiful weekend!
I can so relate to this poem, Ivor. And it flows wonderfully.
I think no matter what is going on or how we feel…we CAN find comfort and joy in floating on the moon. π
R.E.M’s song is the perfect song to soundtrack your poem and photo! π
Keep day dreaming, night dreaming, exercising your imagination, and writing! π
I see the moon as a friend that each of us can talk to, find comfort in, find companionship in. Commune with the moon, MyFriend!!! π

Yep I’m on the moon looking back at earth… and the lyrics in REM’s song always make smile.
π..they are perfectly dreamy…. My poem a mixture of realities and that surreal dream-world our minds float to… ππ…
Thank Carolyn, this worked well for me today… πππ
As life progresses and there seems to be no movement to uplift or give some hope. In all directions the energy is heavy. I think I will join you on the moon or some far off star. Anywhere but here. I so desire to see a change for all mankind where somedays at least you can have a happy stride.
The whole poem is beautiful, Ivor, but I really am struck by the line about living in your soul’s cocoon. I love the idea of comfort lying within oneself!
Ha ha… you are beginning to sound like me stumbling around with awkward steps and sinking like a rock!! Love the soul’s cocoon!
Don’t think I’ve quite made it to the moon!!
A beautiful revisit of a heart-touching poem! Whether it’s ups or down in life…we will keep floating on the moon!
(((HUGS)))
PATS and RUBS for Sir Frankie!
PS…Coops and I will go out soon to walk and commune with the moon! π
Love this one!

Thank you Ursula… I like to think of my soul’s cocoon, as being the spirits of my parents and my wife, and I turn them for guidance….ππ
