Back on my WordPress blog site, I have been re-posting many of my older “Moon” poems, and in keeping with my “Moon Theme”, this week, I am presenting “Blue Sky Moon” here on Throwback Friday, a poem of mine from May 2020

Blue Sky Moon (Revised)

I do wonder why

In our blue daylight sky

You are hovering there

Giving us your half stare

From your comfy afternoon chair

And not your usual midnight glare

You, our beaming day time Moon

With your cultured silver spoon

Have you a hidden power source?

And the cunning of a Trojan Horse

Are you able to save us soon?

From our poisoned gloom

You, being so open and brave

Without the cover of your shadowed wave

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. “You, our beaming day time Moon

With your cultured silver spoon”- This seemed like such a cute thing to say to the moon! What a sweet poem. So heartfelt and smooth. It’s like your conversation with the Moon has been safely recorded through these wonderful verses… 😊

  2. Beautiful and touching, Ivor. You know I commune with the moon nightly…and I gaze, breathe, listen, and just be. Always go back inside feeling joyful. 🙂
When the moon visits during the day…oh, what a wondrous thing! 🙂
(I left you a comment at Go Dog Go Cafe, too!)
