Silent Moon

The Wednesday Challenge from “Weekly Prompts is: QUIET . Please go over and visit their fabulous site by clicking >> Here. .. and the poem “Silent Moon” is my response their prompt

Silent Moon

Hello!

Is anybody out there?

Watching our universe

Spinning in reverse

Am I the only one in town?

Whirling around upside down

Hello!

Is anybody listening?

To our guiding star

Playing accoustic guitar

Or am I just a lonely old moon?

Waiting to be serenaded by a lunar tune

Resonating through the universe

Singing a hallelujah verse

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, how lovely Ivor. Thank you for joining the challenge.
And what a coincidence, I spent most of yesterday singing Halleluja after listening to Andrea Bocelli and his young daughter singing together. πŸ™‚

  2. Love this poem, Ivor! And perfect music choices to duet with your poem!
You know I love, and appreciate, the moon always being there and watching over us. πŸ™‚ I love my late night/early morn walks to commune with the moon and express my gratitude! πŸ™‚
