Until Eyes Hear Sound



The air I breathe

Purifying within

free to leave

free as the wind


I wonder at nature’s freshness

early in the morning

we take her for granted

our perennial mother earth

nurturing a new start to every day

I wish mankind could

begin afresh like her


Searches are many

answers unwound

mirrors our insanity

until eyes hear sound

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  10. It was seeing this photo on Derrick’s site and hearing you were writing a poem inspired by that beautiful robin that brought me to this site, Ivor. I knew you would not disappoint… and sure enough, you didn’t! Listening is such an important skill to develop and practice! London Grammar was the perfect complement. Yes, wouldn’t it be wonderful if humankind “could begin afresh like …” each new day does?
