An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Do Snails Go To The Ballet? is up at Coffee House Writers Magazine this week …
Hello dear readers and followers, as you may know, I now write for “Coffee House Writers” magazine on a fortnightly basis, and my poem “Do Snails Go To The Ballet?”, is in this weeks edition of Coffee House Writers Magazine. … please click on the link below to read my poem, at Coffee House Writers >> https://coffeehousewriters.com/snails-go-to-ballet/
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Love this! The photo, the music, and ESPECIALLY your poem, Ivor! 🙂 To take the time to watch snails is lovely! I’ve done that a number times! (when we lived where we had a lot of snails.) 🙂
I think snails DO go to the ballet! 🙂

Yeah .. snails are truly fascinating, and if you slow down enough, they love a quite little chat … and Havasi’s music seem to capture the tempo of my poem Carolyn .. 🐌💃🏻
We used to have a lot of French onion sellers over here. They rode on black bikes that carried umpteen strings of onions. It used to be a common sight in the summer, but it’s a long time since I saw any of them here in Yorkshire. 🙂
What a delightful poem, Ivor! I am a snail watcher from way back! Your light-hearted rhymes add a touch of whimsey to your imaginative description of the snail. Bravo, Ivor! ❤ I enjoyed the concert immensely! If the snail does visit the ballet, the person sitting next to him will not have to contend with his elbows! 🙂
Thanks for making me smile this morning! ❤ Hope you are well!
Thank you dear Cheryl for appreciating my quaint and quirky poem .. and I did actually get down to his level to take his photo and have that conversation. .. while Frankie sat there obediently by my side wondering what I was doing 🐶😀🐌

What fun if they had their own ballet?

The snail didn’t give me an answer, so I presumed he was on his way to the ballet .. 🐌💃🏻

We just, don’t find, enough time, in the, busyness of our lives, to, enjoy the, little things anymore…

Yes a French black beret and maybe holding a string of onions, but being an Australian you might not get the onion joke! 😂
