G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

It seems like man’s folly continues. We continue to destroy the environment and make war on each other. I have Ukrainian American next-door neighbors and 2 children born in Russia. All of us are brothers and sisters, and the threats of war make me very sad. I see the tanks rolling over land where all the vegetation has been removed and I see soldiers walking in long trenches dug deep in the earth. I hope we do not soon witness destruction and death in the beautiful city of Kyiv, one of the iconic capital cities of Europe.
I love your poem, Ivor. I hope common sense and conscience give us the backbone to preserve human life, Mother Nature, and the beautiful, historical structures created by man.
Thank you Cheryl .. and still we are are perplexed by the senseless wars … humans are very slow learners
“Nonsense and logic
What is the difference?
In our world today”
– Some thoughts while I am writing to you today
“A forest breeze
Caresses my senses
Life flowering gum trees
Free up my defenses”
It seems like we are choosing to ignore History and all we do is keep going back to the drains, ignoring all the signs, ignoring the lessons learnt and never realizing that we are digging our own graves!
I’m sure we will, 🙂

Perfect photo, poem, and song trio, Ivor.
I hope we will…and we must all be an active, caring part of the answer/solutions.

Good thoughts, Ivor. Seems the only back bone we see are those rigid and uncompromising. Hope our words can make people think.
