Hello dear readers and followers, as you may know, I now write for “Coffee House Writers” magazine on a fortnightly basis, and my poem “Red Lilies Under Broken Ground”, is in this weeks edition of Coffee House Writers Magazine.… please click on the link below to read my poem, at Coffee House Writers >> https://coffeehousewriters.com/red-lilies-under-broken-ground/
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Thank you Cheryl.. I so wish for the situation to heal quickly ..how can they do this to children .. in these modern times .. this war is so barbaric 😢☮️
A beautiful and poignant piece, Ivor! I recently read a heartbreaking story in our local newspaper about a woman in Ukraine who made it to Atlanta, Ga, to stay with her son. It took her hours by car, and then by bus, and then by plane to get to Atlanta. She only had the clothes she wore and one other outfit. Her husband is still in a cellar in Ukraine because men of certain ages are not allowed to leave the country. While I was happy she made it to Atlanta, I was saddened she had to leave her family behind. The tragedies that are coming out of this war are horrific. Stay safe, my friend. ❤️
Oh Eugenia .. the sadness of war is incomprehensible in these modern times .. my body shivers in disbelief …
