What will happen tomorrow, where will it be safe for the children to play .. ๐ฅ๐

Today I am presenting a poem that I originally wrote back in July 2018, about โTrumpโsโ Texas refugee prisons/camps >> https://ivors20.wordpress.com/2018/07/26/where-is-their-tomorrow/ .. but this morning I altered the piece to be appropriately poignant, and represent my thoughts about this weekโs sad tragedy in Texas โฆ
What Will Happen Tomorrow
I eat, I drink, I sleep
I casually dream of yesterdayโs
I shamefully wonder about tomorrowโs
Iโm walking along my sunny street
Iโm alive and free as a bird
But where do the children play tomorrow
Will the children wake-up without crying?
Will the children see sunlight today?
Will the children be with their parents tomorrow?
Why are the lawmakers sleeping?
Where is their conscience today?
What will happen to their voices tomorrow?

Well done my friend! A worthy question to ask. I see fewer and fewer children playing outside these days. We used to live outside all summer long having a great time! With gun money buying politicians I fear there will be little significant change.

Thank you Dwight.. however your comments paint is sad scenario .. we are so fortunate here in Australia that our government was brave enough to implement strict gun laws back in 1996 ๐๐

I just saw on the news that the gun lobby spent $15.8 million dollars last year to keep law makers on their side! Dispicable!!

I so like your revisions. It is a much needed message, with powerful important questions. Those questions should be asked daily by every adult…and our lives, voting, actions, compassionate-helping, etc., must reflect the answers we want to see happen.
We must always speak up for the voiceless. Too many children around our world die each day because of many sad reasons…so often from things we could do something about.
