The Sun Never Sets

My poem today is a repost from July 2019.

The Sun Never Sets

Dreaming of distant horizons and red sunsets

Visualising vast oceans and blue skies

Writing emotional hello’s and goodbye’s

Why do I write ?

Could it be an ego thing

Who do I write for ?

Anyone that is listening

Does she hear me too ?

I’d like to speculate so

What do I write ?

Ideas that seep from my heart

But, what do I write about ?

The subjects that matter

To love the soul of our planet

Honour the love we give

Adore the love we receive

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. As Buddy Holly might say …
Well love is love and not fade away.
    (Mick Jagger said it too,
    but Buddy said it better😎)
The good book says that love will
never pass away. Therefore, I say,
words of true love, that flow from
    heart, are here to stay.

    1. Thank you Neha, at first the poem was a mess, a wasn’t fitting together at all, but I left the piece for a day and came back to it, and somehow the words fell into place for me, and ended up reasonably ok… xx

  2. Your love flows from your beautiful heart into your words, Ivor, and touches our hearts.
    She hears you.
    Many of us hear you.
    Keep sharing.
