Such things we question. I think giving is caring, and caring is giving. Though I also suppose one can happen without the other. Or can it?

I don’t know what the answer is, I, too, think it’s a question worth pondering over. It does remind me of that old saying that goes something like: We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
Maybe it’s a question of the life we want to create?

Thank you for your thoughtful comments … I have came to the conclusion over the years, that caring, giving, and receiving are intrinsic parts of souls love and compassion

Great thoughts. I wish these things were taught and encouraged as much as the three R’s .

Excellent poem, Ivor! A heart-toucher. š
And writing it in such a short amount of time! Way to go! Bravo! š
I think giving is a result of caring. And if a person can give without caring…I think the act of giving helps them to begin to care. If that makes any sense.

PS…one of my dear friends…her husband had MS for over 16 years. She was such an amazing caregiver to him! I used to go over to their once a week just to help…and we’d sit and chat, play games, or whatever she wanted to do for a fun-break. She had a male caregiver who came in a couple times a week to help with her husband and that was good.

A very special lady indeed … I was lucky to receive great government support to help me care for Carole and keep her at home… . and many incredible carers during every week, maybe up to 38 hours a week …. Carole’s MS was very servere … but she would smile for all her helpers … ššš
