Throwback Friday, Dark Blue

A poem I wrote in January 2022, however, as is my way, I have revised and renamed the poem for my article today … the original title was Black and Blue



Dark Blue



fatigue is chorused by hidden mockingbirds

lethargic attitudes fall over backwards

tiredness melts blue lines into blurry words



weariness distorts midnight’s dark thoughts

and exhaustion eventually sinks a listing Argonaut



Today’s music/video: Is Damien Rice singing Leonard Cohen’s classic “Famous Blue Raincoat” … and fortunately, I am going see the amazing Damien Rice perform “Live” here in Geelong next Thursday night …

  5. I’ve felt the same way this past week. Trying to swing upwards now.
    It’s been a rough past week for me and Coops…I hope we are on the upswing (physically) now.
    OH, a Damien concert! I love his voice and songs! I’m so glad you are going to the concert! Enjoy and clap and cheer loudly on my behalf! Let me know how it goes!

Hi Carolyn … I was exhausted from all the busy times travelling and all of the emotional excitement of enjoying my cousins being here 😍🌏💕🤗🐶…The Damien Rice concert 🎶 will be a buzz for me… he’s an absolute favourite of mine and an opportunity not to be missed … we are so fortunate that he is visiting Geelong 😃🎶🎶💚
