Our Clear Blue Cookie Jar

Over at Weekly Prompts, the Wednesday Challenge is: Cookie Jars … please visit their fabulous site by clicking on >> Here … Below is my Metaphorical response to the Prompt.

Our Clear Blue Cookie Jar

Like a springtime butterfly

I brightly fluttered outside

Immediately the blue neon sky

Illuminated my clear blue cookie jar

Full of nature’s dazzling delights

Looking through the crystal glass

I saw green leafed trees

Swinging in the breeze

I heard their wooden heartbeats

Singing about how the forest faeries

Big clear blue jar of cookies

Were to be shared by all adversaries

Who needed their earthly remedies

To become compassionate goodies

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

      1. I’m easily confused πŸ€— oh thanks for liking my interesting take on the prompt … I a big idea, but it was difficult to put into words … the little poem took me 8 hours to write βœοΈπŸ€—πŸŒ

  1. Oh, the big clear blue cookie jar! What a brilliant metaphor, Ivor! I love this poem!
Yes, must enjoy our world/earth AND take good care of it…after all it is an heirloom, a one-of-a-kind treasure, a so precious, so valuable inheritance, a legacy for future generations! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you very much Carolyn… our morning walkie was absolutely a dazzling neon blue… and then Sue came up with the perfect prompt for my β€œbig” idea, and away my poem went … although I had a difficult time putting the poem together βœοΈπŸ€—πŸŒπŸ˜πŸ“–
