Deep and Deeper? (revised)

A poem I wrote back in April, a piece that did not make the final list in my new book “Until Eyes Hear Sound”, oh damn … maybe one for my next Book! … Anyhow, my poem seems appropriate for the world’s current happenings and dramatic events





Deep and Deeper?




while afloat, we keep seeking 

and building boats that keep leaking 

time sails by, and we keep weeping

I often wonder how deep

humanities knowledge is

yet unseen …

how deep are our oceans

yet unseen …

how deep is the universe

yet unseen …

how deep is humanities love

for one another

yet unseen …

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

This is, exactly what all the, so-called, “democratic” countries of today’s world are, going through, doing things, that don’t, benefit the people, going against, the people’s wishes, destroying the, fundamental, meanings of, democracy, and, we the voters (the majority) are the ones, who put these, bad people, into, office, and, we still, blindly, followed their, leaderships, which take us all, straight to, HELL.

  6. Oh, so VERY appropriate, Ivor.
    It’s sad that THAT love is unseen…unpracticed…unshared…unexperienced. It could change people and the world for the better.
    If people continue to hate, separate, fight, kill…those precious beautiful mysteries and depths of our oceans and universe may never be seen. 😦

Thank you very much for thoughful comments Cheryl … the is an outlook on how I perceive world … we are sinking the boat we are building to stay afloat … and yet there so much we do not know ‘Yet’ … with all this modern technology we are ‘Yet’ to understand how to live in harmony with each other and our planet … maybe we will learn enough to get there … I hope you enjoy my video selection …
