G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thanks Carolyn … a special moment at the Moorabool Valley Chocolate Cafe, that I tried to capture … he was an elusive little birdie to photograph and although the poem seems simple enough, the words took me all day to create the right image … Lisa’s song and voice are beautiful and perfect for my little poem 😊🌏🎶😍🐶💙🦅

      1. Yes Sue, my blood sugar level had increase … so she increase my tablets to 2 a day, and I’ve an appt with my Doc’ on Monday … I’m afraid it’s going to a slow process to get my sugar levels down … in the meantime I’m battling with headaches, nausea, and tiredness … I’m writing my poems, but blogging is so tiring …

      2. I’m so sorry to hear that your levels have increased. I hope you manage to get it under control soon so that you can begin to feel better. It’s not much fun feeling poorly.
Give yourself a break from reading and writing; forget about WordPress for a few days and leave off writing poems. Relax and do nothing. It will help. 🙂

      3. I don’t think we realise that our hobby of blogging, is very tiring. My doctor at the Long Covid Clinic pointed out writing, and working with images uses a lot of brain activity and this make us just as tired as physical activity, and often more so. The brain needs to rest too. 🙂

      4. Thank you for thoughtful comments Sue … I have definitely decreased my blogging over the last few days… I wrote a poem today, but it was at the Box Office Cafe ☕️ and find the atmosphere totally relaxing… and then with my hand written copy, I was able to ‘dictate’ to Word doc’ … thanks to you, I have nearly mastered the process … 😊🌏😍💙🐶
