His Musical Finale

Richard the intrepid snail

Went searching for the Holy Grail

He was told by the garden toad

His goal was on a long frosty road

Winding down toward the South Pole

Coolly, the snail began his arctic stroll

Determined to find the sacred anomaly

Before the music played at his grand finaleΒ

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Snail after The Grail, eh! πŸ˜‰ I hope it is not a fail and Richard’s trail becomes a tale that will prevail! Maybe he will meet a quail, they’ll drink some ale, and go off to sail! πŸ˜‰

Your poem in honor of Richard the Snail is magnificent! We must all find courage and adventure in Richard and march on whilst we can still march! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚

Oh, I love seeing Handsome Sir Frankie!!! πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks Carolyn … I loved your whimsical/poetic response … (Haha, Ivor’s second name is Richard) … my poem is both whimsical and metaphorical … and of course the Holy Grail would be at the South Pole … where else could it be after all these years …
