An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Every Day is Perfect
Over at Weekly Prompts, the Weekend Challenge is the Word, Contemplate. You may visit their wonderful site by clicking on >> Here. … this afternoon, me and Frankie were “contemplating” when we should go back out in the rain …
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Oh, I do like your poem, Ivor.
The rain will pass and the Australian ground will benefit from the extra water before the onslaught of heat that you’re more used to.
My fields are flooded as is the garden. The younger grandchildren looked on in amazement today as a river of water swept around the back of the house, and all the while the wind howled like a scene from Wuthering Heights!
Thanks Sue … you guys have been having some very wet weather lately… Derrick’s articles have definitely been about the very persistent and consistent rain ☔️ 😊😍
Ha! The expression on Sir Frankie’s face is so sweet! He’s like, “It’s raincoat weather, peoples!” 😀
Love your poem! (I read it out loud to Coop…we like the rhyming-ness of it! 🙂 )
OH! And I love rain! Always have! We always welcome it when it arrives…we never seem to get enough. Coop likes the sun and snow, but not a big fan of a hard rain. Ha. 🙂
“sundrops” – love it!
