Throwback Friday, Fruit Loopy

Early July 2017, my blog/website was only 3 weeks old when I wrote this abstract poem, ‘Fruit Loopy’ … hmmm … and I am not sure what my thoughts were at the time … but I had only been in my new little abode for 5 months, and I was finishing off building the verandah, and starting to create a courtyard garden … I suppose I was “dreaming” about how much Carole would have loved my new home, so hence the “funny title”

Fruit Loopy

The juices of expectation

are upon me again.

Dreaming of yesteryear

and clambering for today.

Through my pores

a taste of sweetness.

My apple of love

the fruit for tomorrow.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Powerful, poignant…sweet, and sensational, Ivor! The title of this post, the photo of your oasis of a courtyard 🙂 , your poem, and the song/vid! 🙂
Oh! I’ve always enjoyed Melanie! 🙂 I discovered her songs when I was a young girl and have listened to her music ever since. I was so sad when I heard she died. 😦

      2. Oh I’m glad to hear that you have got your blood sugar down. I’ve been diabetic since 2002 – all of diet controlled. It’s a lot easier now than then as we have so much better information to guide us.

Last week I would have said that all is better. Unfortunately, we now have an ill son, and are currently in hospital with him . He may need throat surgery.
