Throwback Friday, Fiery Pearls and an Ambient Eye

I wrote this six-line poem back in July 2022, and as is my way, today, I have slightly altered the wording.

“Since I don’t believe in anything
I can pretend about everything” … (anonymous)

Fiery Pearls and an Ambient Eye (Revised)

The stars are the universe’s fiery pearls

And when smoke falls into my eyes

Her leftover embers rekindle my heart

The silver moon is my world’s ambient eye

And when my mind falls out of focus

Her warrior radiance enlightens my soul

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. This trio is powerful, beautiful, and heart-touching! So brilliant, Ivor!
I hit play on the song/vid, as I always do, and listened while I looked at the photo, and read your poem. Then I listened to the song again and watched the video. Yes, some tears rolled down. 🙂
The moon is amazing in and of itself…but, also, is such a powerful metaphor for so many things, emotions, and people in our lives…just one example, the moon is a metaphor, to me, for a guiding force or a source of light in the dark times of life. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) ❤️🌕❤️
“My longing for the presence of the moon is not just a physical search, but a spiritual longing for guidance, serenity, and meaning.” 🙂

    1. Thank you very much Carolyn … I a lot of poems about the moon, a like you, the is a great source of everything serene and compassionate for me 😊🌏🌔💕😍 … actually I am submitting to a British publication for a pamphlet of my poems (20 – 40) and my title and theme is going to be “To the Moon and Back” or “Moon Dreams” 🌔😊📖
