Pockets Full of Stones
I would like to fly away
On this cold wintry day
But my pockets are full of stones
And my old wings are fragile bones
My benevolent friend, the moon
Is hibernating in his orbital cocoon
So, I’m grounded with muddy toes
Stuck here on this frosty meadow

Such powerful, poignant, relatable word-pics in your poem! They definitely stir the emotions.
When we are stuck (emotionally or physically) on a cold wintry day…we must remember the sun and the moon will shine for us soon. π

Yes, nature sure teaches us a lot of positive things.
We must hang on. π
And thank you for writing poems about what you learn from (and gain from) nature. You and your poems are inspirational! π

Sometimes there are just, too many, earthly burdens, preventing us from, taking flight, and, we still desperately, needed to be free, and, we are, eventually, able to, break away, as we’re, able to, free our, minds…

Thank you for words of encouragement β¦ sometimes the burden is overwhelming, but with persistence things can change π

17Β°C is our temperature in Yorkshire today, a little cooler than it has been. Though I suspect much warmer where Derrick is.
