A Cascade of Light and Rain 

 
  
In the blink of an eye 
The overcast sky jolted open 
And through the neon crack 
Beams of golden sunlight 
Cascaded over the dark clouds 

 
Momentarily  
That was the calm before the storm 
And without delay  
The Heavy rain blew in 
And began tumbling down

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    As someone who loves when the sky puts on a show AND loves the rain…your poem is perfection, Ivor…it’s vivid word-pics, it’s flow, it’s igniting of our senses, bringing forth emotion, and so much more!
    Sometimes I think Nature sends the storms and rain to get us to slow down and take a break! Stay in…listen to the symphony of it’s sounds…and watch the rain water the earth! 🙂
