Springtime

Time does not stop flying
There will always be birds in the sky

Clouds do not stop rolling in
The rain shall keep tumbling down

Grass continues to turn green
The season’s butterflies rejoice

And as the ‘Tom Waits’ song decrees
“You Can Never Hold Back Spring”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  4. What a lovely poem, Ivor, and I’ve always enjoyed this video. Nature seems to have held back most of summer in my neck of the woods. And before we know it autumn will be upon us. 🙂

  9. Divine, dear Ivor! I love your verse, Tom’s song, Frankie and Springtime! There’s some talk here of abolishing Daylight Saving Time next year. I love the longer days and more hours of light. Fingers crossed that doesn’t come to fruition. 🌞🌻🐶🌎🤞🏼💛
