The Grey Sky Embellished My Snap Shots

The Grey Sky Embellished My Snap Shots

Today’s sky was a vast picture frame
Like a historic painting of the clouds by Monet
Or an abstract slate cube by Picasso

The atmosphere’s filtered light
Was a perfect mono-tonal background
That silhouetted the flying fauna
And helped embellish my snap shots
Of the birds and dragonflies

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. A Lovely poem, Ivor and super skies to accompany it. I too am having difficulties keeping up with our blogging world. Time management and tiredness don’t blend well!

    1. Thank you, Sue … Yes, tiredness has a lot to do with it, and I’m awfully slow on the keyboard, and getting slower, as the side effects of my strokes are becoming more pronounced with the ageing process

    1. Thanks David … I stand next to a bush that they swarming around, and stay there without moving and click away … I might get a couple of dragonflies in 15 snaps! … Frankie, my doggie thinks I’m crazy 😜
