An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
The Final Phase
Today (Friday) was the sixth day of our visits to the Geelong Botanical Gardens Conservatory to view the “Corpse Plant’s Flower” bloom, then quickly deteriorate.
The images below represent the “Flowers” phenomenal six-day journey.
After leaving the conservatory, we had a picnic lunch in the shade of an American Sweet Gum and photographed some interesting and colourful plants.
We hope you have enjoyed being introduced to the incredible “Corpse Plant” and our walks around the magnificent “Geelong Botanical Gardens”
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

This has been such an incredible adventure for you and all your friendly WordPress readers, dear Ivor! Without these glorious posts of yours, we never would have been able to share in the life and death of the Corpse Plant Flower. There are more things in nature than we could even begin to imagine; being witness to these last few days is proof of that. I’m thrilled to have been allowed to tag along and participate in this once-in-a-lifetime happening. Thank you, my friend, and keep delighting us with your lovely verses and amazing photos! ππΌππππππ€πΆ
