Throwback Friday, Is There More?

Featured Image Above: A painting by, Carole Steven.

Earlier in the week I attended the hospital for a ‘one-day’ procedure, and my recovery from the effects of the anesthetic has lingered on for a few days, so my poem from January 2022 is quite an appropriate “Throwback Friday” article for today.

Is There More?

Beyond my front door
Will there be more?

When the lights a dim
I quietly sit and stare
To see what is out there

Is there more?
Than starlit stairs
And when will I?
Begin the climb

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. I hope you feel much much much betterer very soon! Get some more rest. 🙂
Carole’s painting is so beautiful and filled with light.
    Ponderful, pensive, powerful poem.
    Such an amazing beautiful song/vid.

    1. Thank you very much for lovely words, Carolyn… I’m afraid Archie Roach passed away not long after I posted the original article, he was an Australian icon 🌏😊❤️‍🩹🎶

      1. Last part of your sentence was missing, but I think I’ve realised what it might be. I’ve missed a lot of your posts because I’ve not been well. Nothing major, I just keep catching stuff one after the other. 🙂💛
