Again, Another Year Out Of Tune



Two thousand and twenty-four
Dramatic drones pierced closed doors

As wars were recoated and reloaded
Inflated and dangerously bloated

Earth’s clouded atmosphere is corroded
Our lives are shrouded and overcrowded

Politics and countries are not immune
And the World continues to spin out of tune

Here in Aussie land, normality twirls in dizziness
As we wait for next year’s unfinished business

I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS.   5. thought provoking and sobering poem Ivor. While we live in our own little bubbles, we can’t be immune to the world’s struggles, I wish we had a special formula or spell to make the bad good and the wrongs right, yet till then words will have to be our weapon, and yours always make their mark. P/S : please give Frankie a big hug, I do miss his cuddles and drools!

    1. Hello dear Gina… I’m back from Ballarat, and “we” miss you too… thank you for your thoughtful words about my poem, and yes wishful dreams for a betteerer world seem to be many moons, suns, and oceans away … but my quill is still working 😊🌏🎶😍🐶
