The New World’s “AI” Design

The ancient wheels of time
Have been mysteriously left behind
In refuse paddocks of weeds and slime
Oh, what a mortifying crime

Has society overstepped the line
Spoke-less, with no rhythm or rhyme
Have we become deaf, dumb, and blind
Unable to handle the future’s slippery climb
Without using the New World’s AI design

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. It’s so wonderful when Derrick’s amazing artistic beautiful ponderful photos inspire you and your amazing artistic beautiful ponderful poems, Ivor! You two are a good duet! 🙂 Oh, my! Then throw in Mr. J. Lennon singing THAT song and what a trio you three make! 🙂

Your poem is powerful, timely, and got me a bit teary-eyed. The world has certainly changed and continues to change at an even more rapid speed. In some ways good, in other ways bad. So much has changed since Mr. Lennon sang that song (1980) and I can’t even envision what changes will occur in the next 45 years.

    1. Thank you for your fabulous review of “our” photo & poem collaboration … when I saw Derrick’s rustic cartwheel pic’s, something in my mind clicked, and my contentious poem evolved from there … Oh, John Lennon’s song/video was a natural choice for my thoughts, as he too, was talking about escaping the hectic world that was engulfing his ‘freedom. … 💙📘🌏📕😍🐶😎
