A Cayenne Sunset

A Cayenne Sunset

From in between the evening tide clouds
The sun proudly unveils a spectacle for the crowd

The fluorescent setting sun converges
With the horizon’s shimmering verges
Just before the cayenne sun submerges

And just then
I imagined the sun to be a yellow submarine
Entering the Earth’s sacred Sistine

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. Thank you very much, Eugi … I wasn’t sure about using a yellow submarine as an analogy for the setting sun β€¦πŸŒž poetic license I suppose πŸ˜ŠπŸŒπŸ“–

  1. Gorgeous photos and poem…and a wonderful song! You captured that sky in your photos so well in your poem! I love the whimsy in your song choice! I could see the yellow submarine appearing in the sky! πŸ™‚
The yellows, gold, oranges and reds in nature are so stunningly beautiful! Cayenne is a perfect description…the colors, the warmth, the heat, the spiciness, the flavor is found in those peppers and in nature!
