All My Leaves Are Brown
Here I sway on barren ground
my leaves have turned brown
and are sullenly looking down,
my branches are going brittle
withering away little by little
I have heard passersby say
βThat tree is dying and
should be taken awayβ
Then I think to myself
βMaybe theyβll make me into a bookshelf
for the Library at the Tree Hospitalβ

Loving your ironic imagery, dear Ivor. Perfect song choice as well. π€π΄ππ₯

I’m so terribly about the beautiful tree. I do love that song and sang along with it. I hope a tree service can save the tree.

Yes, the tree is looking sad and sorry and unfortunately the tree is beyond repair πππΆ

Do you have an autumn where the trees drop their leaves?

We do have an autumn, but our native trees donβt shed their leaves β¦ those trees are all introduced ones β¦ ππππ³ππ

This is, so very, sad, how after things don’t look pretty enough, we humans try to, dispose of it, but, that’s how the world works: use until there’s nothing left, then, we DUMP…

Aw. π¦ ‘Tis so sad, to me, when any tree dies…but becoming a bookshelf would be such a wonderful tree-after-life. π
There are days I feel like a tree in autumn.

It saddens me when I see a tree that is dying or not healthy! Lovely poem, Ivor! π’π

Yes, Eugi, all the other walkers were saddened too … we weren’t sure why or how it happened, the tree was relatively young, and all the other trees in the area were quite healthy … π³πππ

I used to work in horticulture, and I came to the view that trees knew when it was time to go, I have a small tree that is dying, sad and disappointing (as we age how long will a replacement take to form and fill the space?). I feel for the tree, I love the resolve in your lines.

Strangely enough I was thinking our eucalyptus was looking a bit weakly until I realised it is only the beginning of April

I hope the tree revives as the spring comes.

Iβm afraid the tree has actually died, itβs not a deciduous tree and started going brown last spring π§ππ³
