A Cloud (a Haiku)

One white fluffy cloud
Mothering the dying tree
With a cotton crown

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Oh, so true! Oh, so beautiful! Brings joy-tears to my eyes. So much of nature shields, helps, and nurtures other parts of nature. So kind. So caring. Too bad people don’t so the same for nature and for other people.
One of your very bestest Haiku, Ivor! Photo and poem perfection…lovey song to honor them!

  2. I’m thinking of the idiom “the gathering clouds” which usually means trouble or danger. But if even one cloud can give a tree protection, perhaps a gathering might be better. And I like to think that when one human provides help to another, others will gather to do the same.
