A New Anthology (a Tanka)
Through rain, hail, or shine I am the messenger bird Iβve important news About the Anthology Don’t let the wires clip my wings
And here is my poem from the Geelong Writers Inc. Anthology
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

Great imagery, dear Ivor. Purple tomato trees, vikings, the farmers wife, a king and butterflies! You have such a wondrously creative imagination! π₯°
Yep β¦ Iβm at the Market trying to poetry books π β¦ to a world of non-believers in the written word in the chaotic digital societyβ¦ I must be crazy πππ
Thank you for your heartwarming comments about my poem, Carolyn β¦ I used the βTankaβ as an introduction to my Anthology poem, which seemed to work ok β¦ I donβt usually use my birdie with wires in them, but they were appropriate here, and of course the Enya song πΆ was the perfect choice for my poem πππππΆππΆπ
I LOVE this piece! It is exactly who I think I am as I create characters for my stories and try getting inside of their heads. This was wonderful, Ivor.
Very nice!

OH, Ivor, one of your bestest poems! So creative, imaginative, fun, heart-touching, and such vivid lovely word-pics and tender emotions! π
That Enya song always brings me some tears, but, also, some smiles. It has a lullaby feel to me…and I love lullabies. π
