Colourful Anomalies

Geranium (Ruby), Bougainvillea (Jazzi), and Begonia (Dragon Wing Red)

Bromeliads, Billbergia nutan (Tears of Joy), and Neoregelia Medusa

Colourful Anomalies

I am pondering, like Rodin’s “The Thinker”
We are in the second week of winter
And here I perceive among my courtyard flowers
Several unseasonal anomalies
Maybe it’s because my garden is enclosed
And sheltered from winter’s winds and frosts
Whatever the reason, nature has been well-disposed
Toward my plant’s colourful displays
Of Geranium, Bougainvillea, Begonia, and Bromeliads

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Whatever you’re doing, you’re doing it right!
To me your garden looks quite outta sight!

PS- would you happen to know a cool song about wild animals? I already have “Wild Life” by OneRepublic as an option.
