An Old Plumber, An Ex-Carer, An Amateur Poet, Words From The Heart
Do Snails Have Toes?
Frosty meadows under the early morning moon
I am always thinking of the many seasons that have been, and those that are gone … Presently, I am thinking of the winter season ahead for ‘Theo the Tomato Tree’
Do Snails Have Toes?
Autumn recedes nestles down below the ground’s leafy gown
Winter howls at the door uninvited frost clings to the chrome toes cringe on the cold floor
Bed-sheets creak and groan alone, I moan icy teardrops and salty snowflakes do not stop
Spring waits under the powdery snow and I wonder do snails have toes?
G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer.
I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

You know what? I am wondering about snail toes as well.
Whimsy at it’s whimsical wonderful best! I’m loving this dream-like fantasy poem, dear Ivor, and the soundtrack is perfect. Bravo! If my memories from science class are still in tact, I believe snails do not have toes but instead one foot-like appendage which allows them to slide from here to there. Fascinating! ππ€πΆβ€οΈπ πΆπͺ΄πππ
Gorgeous photos of skies, clouds, moon and Mr. Frost. π
I find frost to be so artistic, beautiful and even otherworldly.
Such a sweet fun playful…even heart-touching…poem, Ivor! One of your bestest! Such vivid images and such a ponderful question!
I think on such things, too! I bet if they have toes they are cute little silvery toes! π π
Perfect song/vid to trio with your photos and your poem! π

Oh, wowβ¦ thank you for your wonderfully kind and thoughtful words, Carolyn β¦ I seem to be on frenetic writing journey these days β¦ maybe nurturing βTheoβ through winter is activating my inner thoughts about lifeβs trials and tribulations β¦ Iβve so many emotions to write about, no matter how cold my toes get, nor how late I stay up writing β¦ βοΈππππππΆπΆπͺ΄ππ₯°ππ¦ πππ΄π
