Hello, dear readers and followers. I write for Coffee House Writers magazine (USA) fortnightly, and my poem “Sorry” (a Kyrielle) is in this week’s edition. …

A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines), and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.
Some popular rhyming schemes for a Kyrielle are: aabB, ccbB, ddbB, with B being the repeated line, or abaB, cbcB, dbdB.

aw that’s sad, but sometimes there’s is only so much we can do, no matter how much we try, it is beyond our powers

Thank you, Robbie … those old guilt complexes resurfacing, about whether “should I have done more”

You could not have done more. I feel guilty about Michael. I wonder if I did something wrong while I was pregnant, whether I trusted the doctors to much and gave him too many antibiotics and steroids. The real truth is that I kept him alive when the odds were stacked very high against him surviving. We have to recognize that such thoughts are wrong and recognize the truth.

So much sadness in your words. We cannot hold ourselves accountable for the challenges life metes out, although I know it feels like we should.

Such a heart-touching poem, Ivor! 😦 So relatable. So poignant. 😦
Such a beautiful photo of beautiful Carole! 🙂
I don’t know why that guilt has to sneak in so often…even many years down the road…and often at the weirdest times. 😦 No matter how much we do, we still feel we have not done/did not do enough. I was feeling that way recently about several of those in my life who have passed. One passed recently. 😦
I honestly think they would say, “Oh, please don’t feel that way! Push away that guilt! I so appreciate all of your love, care, kindness (etc)!” 🙂

Thank you kindly for all of your lovely about those ‘creepy-crawly’ guilt complexes that sneakily sliver and slide into subconscious thoughts … I know, and she knows, that I should not guilty, but every now and then the eggshells begin to crack … “then” I write about my feelings, and that has always been helpful self-therapy … Carolyn 😍📃📘💕🌏💜💙

Yes, I understand. And GREAT therapy! So helpful to write about all feelings. It helps you, but it also helps anyone who reads what you write. 🙂
