Throwback Friday, Floating on the Moon

Today’s Throwback Friday was written in January 2021

Hello readers and followers, today, I am continuing with my theme of “Moom” poems. If you need to chat with me, “I am up here floating on the moon.

Floating On The Moon

I am not always wrong
And at times, I may have been right
Behind my mask, I smile
And at times, I grimace

Numbness has entered my bones
Clumsiness guides my pen
Awkwardness precedes my stride
Uneasiness resonates in my voice

I am not able to walk on water
And at times, I have sunk like a stone
I live within my soul’s cocoon
And at times, I am floating on the moon

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

    1. I’m a great of David Francey (Canadian) and got to meet him when Go Jane Go played at the Port Fairy Folk Music Festival in 2013 …

Go Jane Go formed a number of years ago after old friends Kieran Kane and David Francey got together and wrote some songs at Kane’s lakeside cabin in upstate New York. They subsequently toured Australia with Kane’s son Lucas to critical acclaim and the three became a band.

  1. Life is up and down, good and not-so-good, pleasure and pain, beautiful and not-so-beautiful, peaks and valleys, ebbs and flows, victories and defeats, gains and losses…but floating on the moon sounds like THE get-away place to find serenity, joy, hope, fulfillment, and healing.
    Love your poem, Ivor! 🙂
Also, your photos and those two lovely songs/vids! Wow! 🙂
Your poems about the moon are some of my VERY faves! 🙂
I have spent a lot of time with the moon in my lifetime. Always time well spent! 🙂
