A Green, Blue, and Grey Dome

A Green, Blue, and Grey Dome

From the womb to the tomb,
And beyond the classroom to Khartoum,
I have been wearing a bridegroom’s
Worn-out costume.

Life’s blooms and heirlooms
Remain undeveloped in the shed’s darkroom,
Waiting for an awakening sonic boom
– Or, I could resume,
Using yesterday’s yard broom
To spruce up the vacant sun-room.

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Fabulous photos! Such moody, but beautiful layers of clouds…blankets of clouds!
Frankie looks wind-blown (those sweet ears!)…but keeping his feet on the ground. πŸ˜‰
A brilliantly bright poem, Ivor! πŸ™‚
    Lovely song/vid! Beautiful voice!

    1. It was a dark gloomy day, but I wanted to brighten things up a bit and of course Frankie is always a source of great joy for me, with windy ears and all, and very happy attitude πŸ“–πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸŒπŸŽΆπŸΆπŸ’•
