My old original Man-del-la shield, which was a gift from my Canadian Uncle many years ago, hangs under my courtyard verandah.

Dream Catchers

With nimble fingers and warm hearts,
the Man-del-la was crafted for me—
or someone much like me.
A symbolic shield to protect,
to bring good health and prosperity.

My Energy Flow dream catcher,
with its unique, handcrafted design,
reveals the scattering of energy
being drawn back to its source—
strengthening my spiritual self.

The Vision Seeker dream catcher
captures bad dreams in its web,
allowing the good ones to pass through.
The quartz stone at its centre
helps remove negative thoughts
and enhances spiritual communication and guidance.

I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Love this, dear Ivor. I have a dream catcher looped over the corner of the headboard of our bed. A friend of mine made a dream catcher baby mobile for us when our first grandchild was born 16 years ago which we hung over the crib. It still hangs from the curtain rod in the room we used as a nursery for our grandbabies. No more babies and no more nursery; it is now our music room. 🥰🎶😴🕸️🛌😎

      3. I’m having a few problems with Weekly Prompts, it doesn’t seem stable, sometimes I can’t access the Admin area. WordPress are looking into it.

      7. AI passed me on to a real person. I’ve always found WordPress to be helpful, although a lot of people don’t find them so, but I think that sometimes stems from the bloggers lack of understanding.

    1. Thank you kindly, Robbie … my old original is starting to fall apart, and when I was visiting Canada was a good time to buy another one or two!! … being at the gift shop on the top of Whistlers Mountain was the perfectly appropriate place to buy my new dream catchers 🥰🏔🌏🤗

  12. Beautiful poem, and your dream catchers are lovely, Ivor. I have 2 dream catchers, one I’ve had forever, and the other I found in a parking lot. I felt the one in the parking needed a home, and that was several years ago. 𖧶💖✨
