Here in Geelong, we are going through a warm/hot spell, and this is a poem that I wrote in January 2019, so appropriately, the poem gets replayed today.
Hotter Than Helios
Today is hotter than hot
This townβs a living melting pot
You could fry an egg without a cooktop
I wonβt be taking Yorkie for a trot
My bodyβs losing the plot
Waiting for my aortaβs mystery clots
My writingβs burnt out, on Helios hill
Leaving an arid inkwell, holding a dry quill
Despite the heat, I’ll do an exercise session. Itβs my will
To continue with this daily drill
No excuses, to lose sight of springβs daffodil
Working out, like Iβm an old grinding flour mill
Even if Iβm over-baked, like Sundayβs hot roast
For her, Iβll take lifeβs chances to the utmost

It was in 50’s here today. A heatwave of our own, that’s for sure. But this week end it will be in the 30s again, which is still warm.

Your photos…your poem…I can feel the heat! Great word-pics, message, and emotions in your poem!
We are having a week of cold, rainy, and some snow. But the sun peeps out a few times each day to encourage us. π
Ivor and Frankie…please take care, keep safe, drink enough water, find the π spots and rest there. π
