G’day readers, It’s Friday morning here in Australia. I recently made an insignificant little comment on a writer’s post, in the form of a short poem “The Woman In Me”, which I’m now posting here today….
The Woman In Me
Inside every man there is a woman
The mother of his soul
The lady of his heart
The kindness in his touch
The passion in his blood
The woman who fostered, the way he shows love

The ocean mirrors sky-blue
As I swim out and through
The beach’s breaking waves
Over the seas smooth caves
Tall and shimmering, surf’s up
In the shape of crystal cups
I glide down a glassy wall
Enshrined in a watery free-fall
Soaking in nature’s towering reward
One of my crescendo concord’s

I see a little blink, in her golden eye
As the purple nebula shades her sky
I feel her aloha clouds pulsate
As I step into her open gate
I need to caress her crystal tears
As her misty showers melt my fears
I gently glide onto her waiting throne
As her glowing lodestones entice me home

Because it was Leonard Cohen’s birthday this week (21st Sept), I’ll attach this glorious song of his “Joan of Arc”, and his lyrics are superb….

Hello dear readers, as some of you might know, one of my writers groups here in Geelong, is ‘Belmont Page’, and in partnership with the writing group, ‘Writeabout’, from the town of Drysdale, we have self-published a book called “Writeabout – Two”. The book is a collection of short stories, poetry, and free verse, and I’m proud to say, I have nine of my poems represented in the book. I’ve attached my nine poems that were selected to be published below. The book launch was yesterday, where writers and friends from both writing groups gathered, and enjoyed afternoon tea and champagne !!

The morning sky caresses my eyes
Shades of daylight colours, amplified
My open curtains welcome, sapphire’s radiance
Shimmering beams, royal and turquoise, advance
I’m illuminated, is this my day, to actually try
Gather up all my blues, yet to die
Pack them in first, don’t waste a chance
There is time left, to travel this vast expanse
My Itmims,* craft is waiting, and ready to fly
And traverse through space’s indigo sky
These alien eyes, sense my universe wants to have a dance
Beyond my star’s, everlasting existence
