Hi guys. My name is Frankie 

I’m a furry Cavoodle 
The owner of Ivor 
You may know him 
He pretends to be a poet 

I let him stay at my house 
And even allow him to sleep on my bed 
He’s bald, so he doesn’t shed hair 

Yes, I know  
That’s generous and kind of me 
Having said that 
In a disorganized manner
 

“I do not own much 
I do not owe much 
I share what I have 
I have hope and love” ** 

My home is his home  
If he takes me for walkies  
Three times a day

Nuzzling and Guzzling (a Novem)

Frankie sleeping on my feet … Frankie waiting … Frankie guzzling coffee

A ‘novem’ is a poem format consisting of four-syllable, three-word tercets in which the positioning of the disyllabic word is different on each line.

(Night)

…..He lies asleep
…..There, cozy warm
…..Upon my feet

(Morning)

……….He waits calmly
……….For breakfast and
……….Walkies to come

(Afternoon)

……………He has coffee
……………To guzzle up
……………Licking it dry

Yes, Frankie, proofreading all weekend was very tiring … “Until Eyes Hear Sound” is being Printed/published this week and will be here in time for the Clunes Book Fair.

I’ve been flattened by a truck

The brick wall has struck

Right between the earlobes

And my mind is a flickering light globe


Pick me up, Frankie

Throw me a fresh hanky

Proofreading “Until Eyes Hear Sound”

Knocked me out of bounds

And preparing for the Clunes Book Fair

Has me as nervous as a shy koala bear

After Midday

Featured Image Above: Frankie gives me that sad brown eyed doggie stare as I walk out the front door to go to the Book Fair at 7.30 this morning.

Setting our table displays up at 8.30 am … I’m ready for the 9.00 am start




After Midday


I’m not walking barefoot anymore

My old paws are too tender and sore

After attending the local bookstore

And there is no need to keep score

While time allows me to use the front door
