Thoughts Winnow Into Words

Words waver and wander around
In the weighty shadows of the whispering moon
And we warily wonder why
But there’s no need to worry


Thoughts winnow into words
When wistful eyes hear sound

Caused by malicious matter outside
We are all mere morsels

Bubbling and gurgling away together
Atop of the earth’s volcanic well

Invincible Pieces

In December, my poem/verse, ‘Invincible Pieces’, will appear at the “Creative Geelong Makers Hub” in the front window gallery (Third Space) on Little Malop St. 132 Centrepoint Arcade. Geelong
The display will include “15″ artists’ interpretations of the broken jar, over various disciplines, “bringing new life and finding beauty in the damaged and discarded”…

The Moon’s Podium



The Olympics are over
Now! Is an appropriate time
For our ancient and humble moon
To accept the shiniest medal
For being the friendly games
All around the World, marathon champion
During the endless days and sleepless nights
Our timeless warrior of the sky
Was the competitors overseeing, quiet achiever

Henceforth I duly declare
The “All Nations” podium belongs to the moon

I would like to fly away
On this cold wintry day
But my pockets are full of stones
And my old wings are fragile bones


My benevolent friend, the moon
Is hibernating in his orbital cocoon
So, I’m grounded with muddy toes
Stuck here on this frosty meadow
