Hello dear readers and followers, I now write for “Coffee House Writers” magazine on a fortnightly basis, and my poem“Endless Seams”, is in this weeks edition of Coffee House Writers Magazine. … please click on the link below to read my poem, at Coffee House Writers >> https://coffeehousewriters.com/endless-seams/
Here is a poem I wrote 2 years ago after Trumps devisive and undemoncratic tactics during his USA election campaign … but “today” for a different invasion of “injustice” my poem seems to be appropriate again ….
“To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity.” Nelson Mandela
“If you want to improve your quality of life and the quality of life for all women, never stop questioning society or calling for change.” Justina De Pierris
This poem is not really a poem, but a poem made from some of my quotes that I have occasionally posted here on my site, and the creating of this collection/poem was prompted by Derrick Knight’s, Feature Image Above >> and you may visit his site via this link >> https://derrickjknight.com/2022/06/24/too-close/
Do Not Quote Me?
“A poet following a poet, gives you poetry in motion”
“The tunnel is growing wider
The light is glowing brighter”
“He who worships from the tallest tree,
should be weary of the broken branches he trod on below”
“Stories emanate from the heart. Literature lives in every heartbeat “
“Not all literature is perfect, none of us are perfect”
The Featured Image above was taken by Derrick Knight, and when I viewed his heartwarming photo of the foal peacefully sleeping on the grass, my mind was immediately inspired to write words, and after numerous attempts to create something worthy of Derrick’s beautiful photo, I eventually produced this poem “There Will Be An Answer” … and my poem is to be read by pretending that you are the “foal’s” thoughts … You may visit Derrick’s article by clicking on this Link >> https://derrickjknight.com/2022/06/20/shadows-and-reflections/
We walked pass the ‘Imagination Garden Kindergarten & Childcare’ centre this morning, and I was reminded of this poem I wrote in August 2020, when the building was being constructed. All the photos in my post here today were taken this morning at the “Imagination” centre ..
Imagination (revised)
Boldly, the sign “Imagination” is written on the wall
The silent gift of creativety that is given to us all
Imagination looks beyond the distant horizon
To where a blue sky unites the oceans
Imagination looks above the gathering dark clouds
To where a golden sun dispels all doubts
Imagination looks inside the essence of nature
To where a nurtured animal instinct matures
Imagination looks outside the boundaries of mankind
A couple of weeks ago I wrote a ‘Tanka’ called Infinity Times Infinity, and here today I have altered the Tanka, to form an eight-line poem .. For betterer, or worserer .. here is my revised piece … below: after my poem is the ‘original Tanka’
Infinity Times Infinity (Revised)
Between flying high
From here, to out there
Beyond the daylight
A trillion light-years away
Is there further light?
Where does the universe end?
Is infinity times infinity,
The foundation of light?
Infinity Times Infinity (a Tanka)
Beyond the daylight A trillion light-years away Is there further light? Where does the universe end? Is infinity the light?
