Pillow And Willow

“Hello dear pillow”

“You’re so kind and soft to my head”

I said to my fluffy white pillow

I recall, similar words being said

Years ago, when I was young

Talking to my backyard willow-tree

Hugging the grand old trunk

And saying to the tree

“Hello dear willow”

“You’re so kind, to let me climb you”

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  1. Ivor, your adorable! And I am horrible because I just now found this link to your poem as I was finally catching up on things to do with my pitiful blog. Your link was in a comment box from last March.☹️ Most of the time I just post a poem to share thoughts, and then get back to my living… away from my computer. And so I am just awful about getting back to people and I suppose that’s why no one reads my blog anymore!! Can’t much blame them.😌 Ivor, I hope you’re doing well with a big smile on your face and having a wonderful day! ☀️Always, Myth*.
