Sleeping Beauty

I’ve a lady visiting, on my bed

Relaxed and snoring, all spread

Friendly, and in her own way beautiful

Cuddly and always an armful

I’m grateful to have her here

Beside me, I adore her soft ears

Lovingly listening to my heartbeat

As she lays there on my feet

Undemanding, a gracious sleeping beauty

Attending to her daily needs, is my happy duty

G'day, and welcome to my blog site. My name is Ivor Steven, I live in Geelong, Australia. I'm an ex-industrial chemist, and a retired plumber, and a former Carer of my wife(Carole), for 30 years, who suffered from severe MS. I Write poetry about those personal thoughts, throughout and beyond my life as a Carer. I've been blogging for over 2 years, and writing poems for 19 years. Of course a lot of my poems are about my favourite subject Carole, but since I've been blogging my writings have become quite varied, humourous, mystical, observational, and even a few monster/horror poems.

  6. I was about to ask is this Sue’s dog and then I read the comments. I think it’s great that you and Sue still get on. I know you will enjoy having your doggy friend stay 🙂

    1. Yes we still get on ok, and of course I enjoy the the chance to look after Cyndi….. she’s never forgotten me, since I rescue her from the Geelong animal welfare pound…. xxx

  8. Aww, she looks a little sweetie, Ivor..the best kind of visitor to have! I love dogs! We don’t have one, as they’re such a tie, & I’d be so heartbroken when it’s time for them to go over the rainbow bridge. I always make a fuss of anyone else’s though! Hope you enjoy having her stay 😊
